Housekeeping Support Worker

One YMCA is entering an exciting period of growth as we expand and strengthen our housing services to support more people experiencing homelessness. As part of our mission to end homelessness and rough sleeping, we are seeking a compassionate and committed Housekeeping Support Worker to join our dedicated team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role within one of our supported housing hostels, helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents who are working towards greater independence and stability.

About the Role: Working closely with the Service Manager, you will deliver high-quality housekeeping and domestic services across the hostel, ensuring that all areas are maintained to excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining resident accommodation, communal areas, staff offices, meeting and conference facilities, and other public spaces. As a valued member of the wider housing team, you will also contribute to creating a positive living environment and support residents as part of a person-centred service.

The people we support often face complex challenges, including:

• Mental health needs
• Substance misuse issues
• Family breakdown and relationship difficulties
• Histories of offending or involvement with the criminal justice system

We are looking for someone who can approach their work with empathy, respect, and professionalism, recognising the importance of creating a safe and dignified environment for everyone who lives within our services.
