Salary: £14.55 gross pay per hour
Whitgift is a leading independent boarding and day schools for boys aged between 10 and 18 years, with approximately 1500 pupils and over one hundred boarding or flexi-boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
The Examination Invigilator will work as part of the School’s examinations team, supporting the smooth and effective delivery of public and internal examinations. The role involves preparing examination rooms, admitting and seating candidates, distributing examination materials, supervising pupils throughout examinations and ensuring all procedures are carried out in accordance with examination regulations.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process, including monitoring candidates, supporting access arrangements, managing queries or irregularities and securely handling examination scripts and materials.
Work opportunities will vary according to the School’s examination schedule, with the main periods typically running from mid-April to the end of June, alongside internal examinations in January, February and November. There may also be ad hoc opportunities throughout the academic year, with invigilators expected to be available between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm when required. Full training will be provided before undertaking invigilation duties.
