Location: UK
Status: {Status}

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We're always interested in hearing from experienced and motivated seafarers who would like to be considered for future opportunities aboard our specialist vessels.

Working as part of a professional and supportive crew, you'll operate on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation, giving you a predictable work pattern and the opportunity to enjoy extended periods at home. Our vessels undertake a varied range of operational and maintenance activities, meaning no two duty periods are quite the same.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, being part of a close-knit team, and developing their maritime skills in a unique operational environment. Whilst previous experience on offshore support, gas/oil supply, or anchor handling vessels would be advantageous, full training will be provided on our specialist operations and equipment.

What you'll be doing

As a Deckhand, you'll contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including:

  • Supporting vessel operations and maintenance activities, such as buoy maintenance operations, helicopter operations and lightvessel work, and other routine aids to navigation maintenance
  • Undertaking planned and routine shipboard maintenance
  • Assisting with deck operations and service delivery
  • Maintaining working stores and equipment levels
  • Contributing to a strong onboard safety culture
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the vessel's departments
  • Developing your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and operational experience

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • MCA Efficient Deck Hand certificate or MCA Able Seafarer Deck Certificate of Proficiency
  • Current STCW certification, including Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Security Awareness, Survival Craft and Elementary First Aid
  • A current ENG1 Medical Certificate
  • A methodical approach with good attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively and remain composed in challenging situations
  • Demonstrable seamanship skills
  • An understanding of maritime safety practices and their application onboard
  • Knowledge of the ISM Code and its practical application
  • Knowledge of the ISPS Code and its practical application

The following would be advantageous but are not essential as training can be provided:

  • Boat handling experience
  • Experience working on offshore support, gas/oil supply, or anchor handling vessels
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and email
