About Us

YMCA is the oldest and largest youth charity in the world, founded in England in 1844. Today it's a global movement supporting more than 58 million people across 119 countries. In England & Wales, we operate as a federation of 80 local YMCAs, working independently to help young people belong, contribute and thrive in their communities. YMCA England & Wales acts as the national council — supporting local YMCAs, developing national programmes, and championing young people's voices with government.

About the Role

We're looking for a Fundraising Database Assistant to join our Data, Insight and Supporter Experience (DISE) Team, part of our wider Fundraising Team. You'll help keep our supporter database accurate, reliable and up to date, so that fundraising can run smoothly and decisions are based on data we can trust. You'll run scheduled data imports and exports with our third-party partners, produce targeted data selections for fundraising and marketing campaigns, and respond to ad hoc requests by creating queries, lists and exports in Raiser's Edge NXT. You'll also carry out routine data quality checks and clean-up.  You’ll flag recurring issues so they can be prevented, and act as the first point of contact for routine database queries.

About You

You'll have experience of working with a CRM or database system, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and a real commitment to data accuracy. You're comfortable following documented processes and delivering scheduled work to agreed deadlines, and you communicate well and enjoy supporting colleagues. You're collaborative and proactive, keen to learn and develop in a data and insight-focused role, and share our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. You'll also respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.

Experience of working with supporter, customer or donor data (ideally in a charity), or of importing, exporting, cleaning and validating data, would be an advantage, but isn't essential. If you're organised, detail-minded, and want your work to genuinely support young people across the country, we'd love to hear from you.

Our recruitment process is anonymised and candidates' names are hidden. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. Safer recruitment is important to us and the successful applicant will be asked to provide two references. They will also be required to complete a safeguarding self-declaration, safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check.

The Company has experienced unprecedented growth over the past few years. We have a vast number of employees, and provide support to clients from all over the country.
