About This Role
Are you an experienced Class 1 / HGV / LGV Driver looking for a secure, long-term opportunity within a well-established Truck and Trailer rental business? As a Class 1 Driver with Dawsongroup, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our rental operations, ensuring vehicles are delivered, collected and handled safely, efficiently and professionally.
- Transporting HGVs and trailers between customer sites, company branches and workshops.
- Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT and assisting with fleet transfers as required.
- Carrying out daily walkaround checks and completing accurate defect reports prior to each journey.
- Parking and securing vehicles in accordance with company security procedures.
- Assisting the branch with additional operational tasks, including vehicle check-in/check-out processes, cleaning vehicles to required standards and occasional internal transport requests.
About You
You are a reliable and safety-focused driver who takes genuine pride in your work. You recognise that every journey reflects on the business and understand the importance of compliance, road safety and maintaining high operational standards. You’re adaptable and comfortable with a varied workload and changing daily routes.
- A valid UK LGV/HGV Class 1 licence (essential).
- A valid UK Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
- Comfortable completing essential paperwork and defect documentation accurately.
- Committed to working within Health and Safety guidelines and safe systems of work.
- Professional, courteous and well-presented when interacting with customers.
