OVERALL SUMMARY

The role is part of the second line of defence.  The financial risk team is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the risk governance frameworks mainly focussed mainly on market risk and counterparty risk.  This includes measuring, monitoring and managing these risks within appetite set by the firm. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the day-to-day delivery of the Market and Counterparty Risk Framework (incl. limit monitoring, daily reporting and resolving ad-hoc issues).
  • Assist in managing the company Model Risk Governance Framework and conduct validations and/or reviews of the company Models and Algorithms.
  • Engaging and proposing solutions to model deficiencies.
  • Keep up to date on regulatory changes, quantitative techniques, industry best practices, and market news.
  • Assist with Governance tasks for both Market/Counterparty Risk and Model Validation.
  • Development, maintaining and monitoring of Market and Counterparty Risk Analytics.
  • Working with other areas within Risk to deliver strategy.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

A minimum of a 2:1 degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Physics.  Strong analytical and computational skills, with great attention to detail, strong control mind-set with interest in investigating issues and developing solutions.

  • Entrepreneurial approach to research and finding solutions.
  • Good written and verbal communication & presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

  • Data management (SQL)
  • Python – EDA, matplotlib, plotly
