About you

In joining the GFG Alliance communication team you will help build and protect the reputation of the GFG Brand through effective use of its social channels. We want you to help us better engage with our stakeholders, using social media channels, to highlight our purpose and influence knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to contribute to an improved financial performance and positive overall reputation.

This role is responsible for delivering strategic, creative, and data-driven content across a range of existing and emerging channels including social media and immersive technologies.

Your curiosity and understanding of trends in social media and content, and new innovations will see you well placed to join the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Enhance reputation by sharing our stories, engaging communities, and managing social channels effectively.
  • Increase brand awareness and saliency with new and existing audiences, by scaling content and messaging across relevant channels, improving brand perception amongst our key stakeholders.
  • Generate brand preference for GFG and its industrial operations by getting our customers to spend more time with our brand and help them understand what we stand for and why we are relevant for their needs.

The role will involve, but is not limited to, the following activities:

Content & Engagement

  • Support the execution of our social media and content strategies.
  • Provide day to day content governance, including editorial calendar, social media content planner, approvals, social listening/ monitoring, crisis management and response and decision trees.
  • Manage content on our digital assets website, social media etc
  • Research, create, post and monitor social media and other digital content - long form blogs, web copy, opinion editorials, video, podcasts, scripts, micro stories, explainers etc - ensuring it’s compelling, promotes our areas of differentiation, and reaches target audiences with clear, and consistent key messages that enhance reputation, and drive action
  • Atomization of content into different and relevant formats to maximize use across multiple channels
  • Understanding of UX, optimizing content for search, engagement and analytical tools
  • Identifying opportunities to reactively and proactively contribute and influence discussions related to our areas of focus.
  • Amplify website content on social channels and drive traffic to our sites.
  • Monitor social media channels, provide community management, drive stakeholder engagement, manage and escalate issues that arise for timely response.

  • Maintain the voice of the brand in all posts and interactions.
  • Create and manage effective social communications campaigns, optimizing by channel to drive awareness, engagement and lead generation, as appropriate.
  • Work closely with other members of the Communication and Brand team and ensure our channels leverage content from across the business, focus on topics of strategic importance and meet brand requirements
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts within our businesses to support, plan and create content and campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive engagement
  • Identify emerging trends, to enhance content engagement and experiences through our internal and external channels
  • Identify and manage global preferred suppliers for video and photography
  • Prepare content briefs and work with suppliers to deliver content aligned with brand requirements, including proofing and editing.
  • Work closely with other members of the Communication and Brand team and ensure our social media channels leverage content from across the business, focus on topics of strategic importance and meet brand requirements.
  • Play a lead role in upskilling social media practitioners across the global group.

Measurement and Analytics

  • Use social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, to deliver effective publishing plans, posts, monitoring, analytics, insights and reports.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media programs.
  • Work closely with the web manager to report on content performance and key insights across our websites and use these learnings to improve future content.
  • Use a range of measurement evaluation tools to deliver effective publishing plans, posts, monitoring, analytics, insights and reports

Measurement:

  • Show improved quality reach, impressions, and growth rate.
  • Show improved engagement – increased number of reactions, comments, shares and views.
  • Show increased website traffic driven through social posts and improved time on page.
  • Defend and grow positive sentiment levels.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Preferred upwards of 6-8 years’ experience in social media and content, either from working within an agency, media or a complex organization.
  • Superior skills in writing for the web, proofing and editing, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing social media accounts.
  • Experience in community management, stakeholder engagement and managing issues in a social environment.
  • Solid understanding of social media channels, their features and how to adapt content to suit each platform.
  • Sound sense of brand tone of voice and strong story telling skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information simply using various mediums i.e. video, isometric diagrams, infographics etc
  • Skilled at creating a broad range of content for various purposes, mediums and audiences
  • The ability to manage effectively with multiple stakeholders, within tight deadlines and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Experience using SEO tools and web content management systems, with a sound understanding of analytics with the ability to pull out key data sets and optimize for future performance
  • Desirable, experience using creative applications such as Photoshop, InDesign and Canva; social media management (publishing, listening and monitoring) platforms such as Sprout Social or similar tools; and/or audio and video editing tools
