The Head of Finance is a rewarding role within the Wildlife Trust federation, having been designed to work with colleagues at the heart of the action to develop and deliver best practice, drive efficiencies, and increase our impact for people and wildlife.
Operating strategically and operationally you will design and implement projects which improve our operating model whilst delivering and managing daily finance functions. Working with your team (Gwent) and external accountancy support (Radnorshire) you will manage all financial processes including, but not limited to, budgets, petty cash, invoicing, purchase orders, payments, preparation of monthly and annual papers, payroll, pension, VAT, and end of year accounts.
We’re Looking for a qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant with strategic finance experience, who has experience of managing and maintaining financial systems, including payroll, pensions, VAT, budgets, and business financial processes. Ideally you will have significant experience of Sage (Gwent) and Quickbooks (Radnorshire) finance software and have experience of financial forecasting including the identification of opportunities for income generation and financial efficiencies. Having held a similar position within the charity sector would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
The Head of Finance to work full time across Gwent Wildlife Trusts (0.7FTE) and Radnorshire Wildlife Trusts (0.3FTE), however, we would also like to hear from candidates interested in completing either of the part time roles at the individual Trusts.
If taken on as the full-time post, you will be required to attend meetings in Gwent, Radnorshire and occasionally elsewhere in the UK. You will also be expected to attend Radnorshire office for meetings. We can be flexible with the number of days home working and number of days on site.
