We are currently recruiting for a Greenspace & Grounds Maintenance Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality greenspaces and the landscapes across Stockport Homes asset base!
The key purpose of this role is to play a part in the Environmental Services Team to deliver a range of greenspace, environmental, caretaking and facilities management services across Stockport. The successful applicant will support the Greenspace Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality spaces, environments, landscapes and neighbourhoods and value for money for our customers.
Experience of Greenspace can either be in a personal or professional capacity.

As the Greenspace & Grounds Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Engaging with customers and key stakeholders to identify issues, support the design and implementation of greenspace improvements
Undertaking site audits to support the delivery of greenspace services to new customers
Supporting, reviewing and developing the appropriate greenspace policies and procedures
Supporting effective monitoring of contractors, through site monitoring, inspections and regular meetings
Supporting management of income and expenditure through the use of appropriate IT and financial systems
Organising and delivering customer engagement activities, such as supporting applications for external recognition such as Green Flag.
Our ideal candidate will have:
A good understanding of greenspace issues
A passion for the outdoors environment
Demonstratable practical experience and understanding of undertaking site survey and monitoring techniques.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Organised and able to plan their own workload effectively and efficiently
A positive and enthusiastic approach to work especially when dealing with customers.
Access to a car, have a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel.
Good practical skills in using Microsoft Office Applications and understanding Applications such as GIS and mapping software
