Accounting (AAT) Lecturer

Salary Range £28,840 - £35,541

37 hours per week X 52 weeks per year

 

As an AAT Lecturer with us, you’ll be joining one of the most forward-thinking accountancy departments in further education. As well as preparing learners for the real world you will play a key role in continuing to develop our programme to maintain industry relevance and value.

In partnership with Mindful Education’s, we utilise an innovative virtual learning platform, tailor-made to enhance delivery and student experience with expertly designed online lesson plans and resources to free up time and allow your teaching to be more dynamic and responsive to individual learner needs.

Assessment is completed on a unit-by-unit basis - allowing you to monitor progression in real-time and rapidly see the impact your teaching is having.

You will be carrying out the full breadth of lecturing duties, such as:

  • Delivering AAT Accounting at Levels 2, 3 & 4.
  • Help develop a truly dynamic accounting provision within the college
  • Utilise our tailor-made virtual learning platform ‘Mindful’
  • Liaise with industry professionals and employers to help prepare learners for the real world of accountancy
  • Champion our single-minded commitment to putting students first
  • Exemplify our values of diversity, Inclusion and celebrating achievement

 

After your first year with us, success in this role would look like:

  • Maintained strong progression numbers within the programme from each level of AAT qualification to the next
  • Closely monitored student achievement on a unit-to-unit basis and ensured an upwards trend in success rates
  • Continued to develop our already strong links to the industry as we work to expand our apprenticeship program
  • Enthusiastically engaged with ongoing continuous professional development opportunities with both Mindful, AAT & The Colleges extensive internal CPD programme

 

We are open-minded and welcome all applicants who believe they would be a good fit. Though ideally, you will:

  • Hold AAT/ACCA/CIMA Ideally at Level 4 or Equivalent high-level accounting qualification & experience
  • Be confident in delivering accountancy content to learners while being able to facilitate assessment through computer-based examinations
  • Be willing to have flexibility with working hours including some evening classes where necessary (This time would be included in your contracted 37 hours PW)
  • Hold a teaching qualification or commitment to undertake within 12 months of starting
