Application Support Engineer

At Watford Community Housing, we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. We’re looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer join our IT team and help us deliver multiple high performing application systems to our customers.

What’s the role?

As part of our IT team, you will use your technical skills to help us deliver high-quality housing services to our customers. You'll be maintaining and optimising applications, ensuring they're always running at peak performance.

The right candidate will need the ability to communicate clearly to customers, they will take a strategic approach to the upkeep and administration / testing of our Housing management systems whilst taking personal responsibility for delivering a quality service to our customers.

You’ll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to maintain our housing stock information.  

In this role you will need to:

  • Ensure a high standard of customer service.
  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining and administrating our Housing Management Systems.
  • Proactively keep up to date with product and function releases.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation, user guides and conduct training sessions.

What are we looking for?

You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. You’ll have an excellent grasp of housing management products and know how to troubleshoot and keep customers up to date with progress. You will have a background in technical support, and a knowledge of the housing sector would be a distinct advantage.

Essential:

  • Experience working with MRI Housing Management products.
  • Experience of working in a support engineer role.
  • Training non-technical users and provide on-going system support.
  • Excellent customer facing skills.
  • Ability of working within a team and alone.
  • Maintain a satisfactory DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with the MRI Housing BPM Toolkit.
  • Technical experience with application solutions including database, web technologies.
  • Housing Sector knowledge
